Ingredients

Main
  • 2 pounds pork ribs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Aluminum foil
  • Baking sheet
  • Grill or oven
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  2. Place the pork ribs in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  4. Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  5. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours.
  6. After 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs with reserved marinade.
  7. Switch your oven to broil and return the ribs to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until caramelized.
  8. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before cutting.

Notes

These ribs pair beautifully with steamed jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables, or a refreshing Asian slaw.
