Method
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt until well combined.
- In a large bowl, beat 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter and 1 cup granulated sugar on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition, then stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until combined.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and 1/2 cup milk in three additions, beginning and ending with the flour, mixing gently after each addition until just combined.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon; have 3 tablespoons melted butter ready.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, drizzle with half of the melted butter, and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top.
- Top with the remaining batter, drizzle with the remaining butter, sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar, and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 to 55 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For clean slices, wait until the bread is completely cool before cutting.
