Ingredients

Main
  • 4 Ahi tuna steaks about 6 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Salt to taste

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Place the Ahi tuna steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them sit for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the tuna from the marinade, letting any excess drip off.
  5. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the tuna steaks before cooking.
  6. Carefully place the tuna steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  7. Cook the tuna for about 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, monitoring to avoid overcooking.
  8. Once cooked, let the tuna rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with sides like crispy Asian slaw, steamed rice, or mango salsa.
